After looking for a lot of Piano brands and models, I finally found the one that is just perfect for me. I ordered this about few months ago and was very satisfied when I used it. It comes with a matching bench and it’s pretty easy to set up. My outlook about this item is that the YDP 162 is a bit better than the previous model, although not very significantly. The keys feel pretty good. The ivory feel adds to the experience of playing the piano.
What I love about the extra piano sound is its Grand Piano 2 which gives a very soft and nice sound to my ears. I’ve only played the YDP-162 for less than an hour in total, so I cannot speak to the level of improvement in sound or weight of the keys in more detail. I do find the sound of this digital piano very good, although the tonal range can be somewhat inadequate for more advanced pieces. However, for this price range, I think this piano is excellent.
This piano gave me wonderful sounds and nice harmony. For me, this Piano gives the Pianist amazingly realistic and dynamic sounds! This is the best Piano that I’ve ever had and I’m glad that this item made me satisfied.
Concerning this Piano, it is a 128-Note Polyphony that provides enough horsepower for a dropout-free performances even while layering two voices and playing two-handed, sustained chords with heavy pedaling. So as you become a more advanced player, your digital piano can respond to your skill level.
The built-in, 2-track song recorder is a great way to capture a performance and play it back to hear your progress. You can also record the right and left hands separately for hands-separate practicing at any tempo you’re comfortable with. Now you can practice one hand, while your Arius plays the other.
So as you become a more advanced player like me, your digital piano can respond to your skill level.
EFFECTS AND VOICES
This Piano has 10 perfect voices. I love every sound it produces! The YDP-162‘s built-in voices include Grand Piano 1, Grand Piano 2, Grand Piano 3, Electric Piano 1, Electric Piano 2, Harpsichord, Vibraphone, Pipe Organ, Jazz Organ, and Strings
The YDP-162 is built on Yamaha’s PureCF sound engine that powers its ten built-in voices. You can combine two voices simultaneously, allowing you to create new sounds. It also features Yamaha’s Acoustic Optimizer, which is designed to adjust acoustical flow and control resonances.
I’ve seen different effects in this Piano. The types of effects are particularly named as Reverb, Damper Resonance and Intelligent Acoustic Control.
I liked the fact that the product is reasonably well constructed, and is not as expensive as some of the others on the market. This item gave me a lot of satisfactory features like the USB MIDI has USB connectivity instead of the old MIDI ports which can easily connect to the computer or even with an I Pod. With the MIDI recorder you can play any stored song, any external music CD or to capture your own practice!
I am pretty surprised that the Piano has a matching bench to seat and a cabinet lid to protect the keyboard from attacks of humidity, temperature and insects! Although digital pianos stay out of the attack of all these things, but this cabinet cover adds an extra protection to the piano keyboard. Besides, the manufactures also provides a song book with 50 greats for the piano and a manual, quick operation guide!
